Role Purpose and Role Dimensions:
The purpose of the role is to lead a development team to develop and configure solutions in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, aligned to business needs and ensure that these are delivered on time and in budget

Key Accountabilities and Result Areas:
Key Elements:

Lead the development and configuration of Microsoft Dynamics CRM solutions in line with ICT and business needs
·Support the ICT Dynamics Manager and Process Analyst to define, develop and implement a development strategy which supports the roll out of the ICT strategy and the Information Management strategy
·Work with the ICT Dynamics Manager and Process Analyst to understand business needs and business processes
·Develop business cases for new Dynamics CRM solutions
·Lead on the design of the appropriate Dynamics CRM solution and/or configuration, ensuring a focus on customer needs
·Manage the resourcing and budgeting within the Dynamics CRM development team (both internal and external), ensuring projects are allocated resources as appropriate
·Lead a team of developers to design, develop, and implement Dynamics CRM solutions as required
·Provide guidance and review through the full development lifecycle – covering design, coding, test, implementation, and support.
·Lead on coordinating UAT activities with the business
·Ensure solutions are aligned to Business, ICT, and Information Management Strategies, and comply with the organisation’s architectural standards
·Ensure solutions and designed, where possible, to work effectively with the wider Microsoft Office suite
·Develop and maintain application development processes through the use of development methodologies, test plans, implementation standards and quality assurance procedures
·Carry out development quality reviews and integrate this into the build process by presenting the findings and suggesting improvements where necessary
·Support the Dynamics Manager and Process Analyst in conducting Training Needs Analysis (TNA), Training Programme Design, Resourcing and execution for new and changed Dynamics CRM applications
·Provide sign-off of any new solutions and configuration changes

Achieve and sustain a high level of ICT service delivery

·Ensure timely and cost-effective development, installation, upgrading and support of Dynamics CRM solutions
·Provide support and problem solving for Dynamics CRM solutions

Act in a professional, proactive and commercially focused manner in the day to day delivery of ICT
·Work with the ICT Business Partner Managers to support the understanding of key business drivers and requirements
·Actively evaluate all projects/work-streams/activities within area of expertise with a view to identifying further improvements
·Work in partnership with the ICT Business Partners and suppliers as well as the ICT Project teams to ensure consistent, proactive support and activity is focused to deliver the overall business agenda.

Contribute as an effective and collaborative member of the ICT team and the wider Service transformation division

·Contribute to and support ICT service improvements for the Council
·Actively get involved in wider divisional projects and initiatives
·Help out the wider ICT and service delivery teams when there are peaks in workload
·Participate in the ongoing development, implementation and monitoring of services provided by the wider team
·Actively give and share feedback across the team, both positive feedback and constructive criticism
·Take responsibility for continually developing self in order to maximise contribution to the role

Job Title:

ICT Dynamics Lead Developer
Essential knowledge:
·Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM development, including requirements definition, process charting, structured methods, prototyping, module and integration testing, quality reviews, and implementation
·Strong knowledge of Microsoft associated languages, including C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, JQuery, XML, HTML, or CSS
·Good knowledge of reporting and data extraction tools such as Business Objects, Crystal and Discoverer
·Good knowledge of data analysis, data validation and cleansing, database design and SQL databases
·Good working knowledge of development tracking and performance management
·Up-to-date knowledge of new technology and development tools
·Intellectual capacity to demonstrate or acquire an understanding of the broader operating context of the Council
·Evidence of ongoing and relevant professional development

Essential skills and abilities:
·Ability to lead and deliver a range of development projects, tasks and activities of varying complexity
·Ability to manage and supervise development team activities
·Ability to demonstrate resilience when facing contradicting priorities or demanding workloads

Essential experience:
·Significant experience of Microsoft Dynamics CRM development, configuration, and governance
·A good track record in change management involving application design, development, project management and service delivery
·Experience of software release management
·Experience of leading and supervising development teams, including in-house and external development staff
·Experience of regularly developing a range of ICT products including systems, programs, processes, procedures, data outputs, test plans and user guides.
·Experience of working closely with senior management, gaining credibility with that level of the organisation.
