Brief description/introduction :

The Retail Systems Test Team offers testing services to the Retail Systems department. Within the testing group there is a pool of testers from which a range of testing services is provided. This includes testing consultancy, scripting and testing of VBS, EFT and E-Commerce applications. These roles are part of the testing pool resource and will be assigned to Ecommerce Mobile optimisation testing project.
Principal duties and responsibilities :
    • Prepare and run both manual and automated test scripts
    • Analyse test results and raise defects in Quality Centre
    • Input into team discussions on improvements
    • Support the work of the RSTT
Essential experience and technical/business skills :
    • Proven experience of working in a retail E-Commerce test team, especially mobile sites
    • Proven knowledge of using Quality Centre
    • Proven experience of working alongside other test team members, working as a team to deliver to tight timescales following agreed defined testing standards.
    • Effective communicator, written and oral.
    • ISEB/ISTQB Foundation qualified
Desirable experience and technical/business skills :
  • Experience of working on major UK retail projects

  • Highly proficient in Java J2EE, JavaScript and Spring Framework
  • Strong experience of Java 1.5 as a minimum and preferably Java 1.6
  • Experience of developing with HTML, XHTML, CSS, XSLT, HTML table design, XFORMS and XML based publishing
  • Experience of Unit Testing using JUnit, DBUnit
  • Experience of either JBoss or Tomcat
  • Working knowledge of build tools such as ANT and Maven
  • Front end development experience using Struts
